Preventing Cracks in PC Plastic Products

To avoid cracks in PC plastic products, especially in darker colors where defects are more visible, several measures should be taken:
Drying: Thoroughly dry PC resin to remove moisture and gases, as PC is hygroscopic and moisture can lead to degradation.
Temperature Control: Reduce melt temperature, use segmented barrel temperature settings, and increase mold temperature appropriately.
Process Parameters: Adjust injection pressure and speed—higher pressure and lower speed help reduce internal stresses and prevent cracking.
Machine Operation: Optimize back pressure, reduce screw speed, and ensure proper venting in runners and cavities.
Maintenance: Regularly clean nozzles, runners, and gates to prevent blockages and ensure a stable processing environment.
These steps help minimize the risk of cracks and ensure the production of high-quality PC components.
